The recovery calendar trap
Do you have recovery milestones marked on your calendar?
"Week 6: Return to exercise" or "Month 3: Feel normal again"?
While planning and tracking can be helpful, rigid timelines often create unnecessary pressure.
Recovery isn't linear—it ebbs and flows. Some days you'll feel great, and the very next day might bring fatigue or discomfort. This isn't regression; it's the natural rhythm of healing.
Instead of expecting steady improvement day by day, try thinking in terms of overall trends. If you look back at where you were a month ago, you'll likely see significant progress, even if yesterday was difficult.
What's been your experience with recovery timelines? Have they been helpful guides, or sources of frustration?
I'd love to hear how you're navigating the unpredictable journey of healing.
